At CommerceHub, we want to help ensure that you can connect your existing systems to Dsco with as little work as possible. The document below outlines the simple steps required when connecting Dsco another system. After reading this document, if you still have questions about connecting to Dsco, please reach out to our support team at email@example.com.
Connect Dsco to another system
There are three main things to consider when connecting Dsco to another system: the type of files you'll be using, the type of connection to Dsco, and your Dsco automated jobs for importing/exporting your data.
Choose what type of files you will be using with this integration. Dsco can support any combination of the following types:
- JSON (via API)
When connecting Dsco to another system, the most common file types used are CSV and XLS files. Go here to access the Dsco XLS template files and read more about supported file types.
Did you know that you can use the Dsco Data Mapper tool to map your Excel files to Dsco? Using that feature means that you can continue to use your same Excel files even when you start sending those files to Dsco. Go here for more information on using that feature.
Choose whether you want to use a Dsco-hosted SFTP site or your own SFTP site. Dsco provides an SFTP site for all accounts. Head to this page in the Dsco application for information on your account-specific SFTP credentials: https://app.dsco.io/automation/ftp.
If you decide to use your Dsco SFTP site, make sure you review the SFTP folder structure. You can find documentation on that folder structure on the same page as your SFTP credentials: https://app.dsco.io/automation/ftp.
Create your automated export and import jobs. Go here for help setting up an export job, and here for help setting up an import job. When you reach step two of the job creation wizard, make sure to choose whether you'll be using a Dsco SFTP site or an External SFTP site. If using an External SFTP site, make sure you include the correct username and password in the Username and Password fields.
